Next week Diana and Peter will be heading to Kenya as trustees of the charity Schools for Kenya. Their trip will entail visiting the charity’s two schools in Olmoti and Lenkisem.
The purpose of their visit will be to meet with headteachers, governors and Masai village elders to discuss what support is needed from the charity to help continue positive change in the remote schools.
Schools for Kenya allows children in remote areas to access an education and this gives them choices in life.
Since their last visit in 2015 the charity has funded the building of houses for teachers, new classrooms, furniture for a dining hall and a new roof for a classroom which blew off during a storm.
The charity works closely with the Born Free Foundation in Kenya to ensure that conservation is considered in all aspects of Schools for Kenya’s work.
Calvin will be supporting Schools for Kenya by sending a donation of pens, coloured pencils and skipping ropes to the schools.
Have a great trip Diana and Peter!
