Royal visit for Gascoigne Halman

We were delighted to hear that John Halman of our client, Gascoigne Halman, was invited to attend a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace this year.

John, who attended with his wife, Jill, was invited following last year’s £25k Community Challenge, a community support initiative devised by Calvin Marketing.

Gascoigne Halman has a long history of community giving but the company was looking to do something extra special as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations.

The Gascoigne Halman £25k Community Challenge was conceived. The initiative was launched in February 2015 with local charities and community organisations invited to submit a request for a slice of the £25k fund.

Our managing director, Diana Stephenson, joined the judging panel which included the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, David Briggs; Paralympic athlete, Dame Sarah Storey; broadcast journalist, Louise Minchin and John Halman.

Judging took place over the summer with the final selection of 25 recipients being made later in the year.

Speaking about John’s Royal visit, Diana said, “I was thrilled to hear that John had received an invitation to one of this year’s Royal Garden parties.

“He was hugely generous offering to donate £25,000 and we have had amazing feedback from the local organisations that benefitted.

“I’m glad to say that we also generated lots of PR coverage around the Community Challenge and the Garden Party invitation was certainly the icing on the cake.”
