Calvin Marketing, managing director Diana Stephenson has completed this year’s Morrisons Great Manchester 10k Run, achieving a personal best whilst raising funds for her chosen charity, Schools for Kenya.
Diana, who describes herself as “not a runner”, joined over 40,000 entrants in the event and was delighted to finish in the top 300 women in her age group, shaving over 8 minutes off her finishing time in the same event last year.
As a trustee of the Schools for Kenya charity, Diana explains why its work is so important:
“The charity has already constructed a new secondary school in the village of Lenkisem in Kenya. The work that has been completed so far is brilliant and vital if more children in Kenya are to have access to the education which I believe they deserve as a basic right. We are currently fundraising to build dormitories for the boys and girls and living accommodation for the school’s teachers.
“In November I am planning to travel out to Kenya to meet the teachers, the children and their families to assess what projects I need to run for in 2016!”
